In 2025, Kubrat achieved first place among evaluated Wagyu cattle in Europe, according to AWA data. His latest genetic evaluation, published on August 5, 2026, once again confirms his exceptional potential.

Top 1% Across All Three Major Selection Indexes

According to the latest Australian Wagyu Association evaluation, Kubrat ranks in the top 1% of his reference group across all three major selection indexes:

These exceptional results are complemented by traits directly related to meat quality and productivity. Kubrat ranks in the top 2% for Marbling Score (MS) and Eye Muscle Area (EMA), as well as in the top 3% for Carcase Weight (CW).

His growth performance is equally impressive – top 10% for 200-day weight, top 8% for 400-day weight and top 7% for 600-day weight.

Fullblood Wagyu with Predominantly Tajima Genetics

Kubrat is Fullblood Wagyu, genotyped and with DNA-verified parentage. His genetic profile is predominantly Tajima – 60.9%, a lineage associated with a high degree of fine marbling – one of the most distinctive characteristics of premium Wagyu beef.

The combination of pedigree, genetic performance, marbling potential and excellent growth traits makes Kubrat an exceptionally valuable representative of the Elena Wagyu breeding programme.

Bulgarian Wagyu Genetics with European Potential

Kubrat’s success demonstrates that Wagyu cattle with genetic potential competitive with the best European herds can be bred in Bulgaria.

For Elena Wagyu, his performance represents not only an individual achievement, but also an important step in the long-term development and international recognition of Bulgarian Wagyu breeding.

Kubrat’s Genetics – The Next Step

Kubrat is currently at a specialised semen collection centre. This will make his valuable genetics available for use in future breeding programmes.
